Grundsätzliches

Jede Software enthält Fehler oder es gibt neue Anforderungen an sie. Deshalb gibt es von Zeit zu Zeit neue Softwareversionen, die auf den Modulen aufgespielt werden dürfen und manchmal auch müssen.

Um beim DAB+ Tuner neue Software aufzuspielen, kann der von ReVox an die Fachhändler verkaufte Programmieradapter verwendet werden. Das genau Vorgehen folgt im nächsten Abschnitt. Es müssen minimale Modifikationen an den Einstellungen des M-Prog gemacht werden.

Basics

Every software contains bugs or there are new requirements for it. That's why there are new software versions from time to time available that can or sometimes have to be installed on the modules.

The Programmingadapter sold by ReVox to specialists and dealers can be used to install new software on the DAB+ tuner. The exact procedure follows in the next section. Minimal modifications to the settings of the M-Prog have to be made.

First install the latest version of the "ReVox M Series Programmer 2" from ReVox AG. This must then be added in the next section for the M-DAB-100.

Vorbereitungen an M-Prog

Überprüfen Sie als erstes, wo genau Ihre M-Prog Software installiert ist. Das ist üblicherweise im folgenden Pfad, kann aber je nach PC abweichen. Die nun folgenden Anweisungen gehen von diesem Pfad aus:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Revox\M-Programmer-2

Schritt 1:
Kopieren Sie folgende Bild Datei in diesen Ordner in Ihrer Installation. (Rechtsklick und dann "Link speichern unter" auswählen)

C:\Program Files (x86)\Revox\M-Programmer-2\Images

Schritt 2:
Kopieren Sie die Binärdatei der gewünschten Version in diesen Ordner in Ihrer Installation. Verändern Sie den Namen nicht.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Revox\M-Programmer-2\Firmware

Schritt 3:
Nun öffnen Sie mit einen Texteditor die folgende Datei:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Revox\M-Programmer-2\M51Prog.ini

Scrollen Sie ganz an dasEnde der Datei und fügen diesen Abschnitt zuunterst mit einer Zeile Abstand ein:

Preparations for the M-Prog

First, check where exactly your M-Prog software is installed. This is usually in the following path, but can vary depending on the PC. The following instructions are based on this path:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Revox\M-Programmer-2

Step 1:
Copy the following image file into this folder in your installation. (Right click and then select "Save link as")

C:\Program Files (x86)\Revox\M-Programmer-2\Images

Step 2:
Copy the binaryfile of your choosen version into this folder in your installation. Don't change the filename.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Revox\M-Programmer-2\Firmware

Step 3:
Now open the following file with a text editor:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Revox\M-Programmer-2\M51Prog.ini

Scroll to the very end of the file and insert this section at the bottom with a line spacing:

Freunde der Apple Computer müssen alles entsprechend auf Apple angepasst machen.

Softwareupdate am Modul

Entfernen Sie alle Kabel am M-DAB-100 Modul, es darf beim Update nicht angeschlossen oder in Betrieb sein. Öffnen Sie das Modul, indem Sie die oberen 2 Schrauben auf beiden Seiten entfernen. Der Aluminiumdeckel kann nun abgehoben werden.

Verbinden Sie den Programmer mit dem roten Stecker. Der Stecker kann nur in einer Position verbunden werden. Beachten Sie die rote Nase am Stecker, die durch das Loch in der Platine passen muss.

Verbinden Sie den Programmer mit der seriellen Schnittstelle des PC's und den Stromanschluss mit dem dazu gehörenden Netzteil. Das Netzteil mit 220V versorgen.

Nun starten Sie die Software M-Prog und beantworten die Frage mit "YES".

Drücken Sie unten auf "Check", der Programmer sollte einwandfrei erkannt werden.

Software update on the module

Remove all cables from the M-DAB-100 module, it must not be connected or in operation during the update. Open the module by removing the top 2 screws on both sides. The aluminum cover can now be lifted off.

Connect the programmer with the red plug. The plug can only be connected in one position. Note the red nose on the plug that needs to fit through the hole on the PCB.

Connect the programmer with the serial interface of the PC and the power connection with the power supply unit belonging to the programmer. Supply the power supply with 220V/110V.

Now start the M-Prog software and answer the question with "YES".

Press "Check" below, the programmer should be recognized correctly.

Schliessen Sie das DAB+ Modul am M-Prog Programmer an. Der rote Stecker kann wegen des Nippels am Stecker und des Lochs auf der Platine nur auf eine Art aufgesteckt werden.

Ist das Modul Verbunden, starten Sie "Update Firmware" und warten, bis der Programmiervorgang beendet ist.

Now select on the left DAB-100
(In the middle there is still "Application Version: DAB 1" !)

You should now see a picture of the DAB+ tuner in the right area

Connect the DAB+ module to the M-Prog programmer. The red plug can only be plugged in one way because of the nipple on the plug and the hole on the circuit board.

If the module is connected, start "Update Firmware" and wait until the programming process is finished.

Wenn der Updatevorgang erfolgreich war, können Sie nun den Stecker vorsichtig entfernen und das Modul wieder schliessen indem Sie den Deckel präzise aufsetzen und die 4 Schrauben wieder befestigen. Schliessen Sie nun alle Kabel am M-DAB-100 wieder an.

Schalten Sie den Strom am der M100 wieder ein und prüfen das DAB+ Modul.

If the update process was successful, you can now remove the plug carefully and close the module again by precise putting on the cover and fastening the 4 screws again. Now reconnect all cables to the M-DAB-100.

Turn the power back on at the M100 and check the DAB+ module.
